Good food... Slow service

Pretty good. Food takes a bit longer than most places but is really good. Wish they put more fries in the containers. Still, very good food.

Frisco melt is my go to! Rich and delicious shakes. Also love the chili. Staff is always friendly!

My husband and I stop every time we are going that way. We live in East Asheville. We wish one was over on our side of town! Reliable, fresh great burgers and fries, the milkshakes are to die for(strawberry with chocolate fudge). Get it in a huge glass if you go there. It takes you back and makes it extra special!

Waitress was nice. An the burgers were okay tasting but it didn't agree with either me or my hubby by the end of the night we both were in the bathroom alot 😥😥😥

The food was fine and the staff were friendly. Our waitress was pregnant and worked really hard and was extremely nice.

Let me start by saying I wish i could split this review into two sections food and service. The food here is and always been amazing, they doing a killer job on the burgers and are the only reason I keep coming back. Now to address the one star. The service over the years has went down big time. Wait staff run around like crazy with no order, taking people's orders, drinks, and refills at random. Drinks and food are thrown down on the tables just to run off and do another random task. You are forced to wait and hope that your order is put into the cooks, or wait to see if the table beside you eats first. You get the feeling from the wait staff that you are an inconvenience because of your choice to come dine during a busy time of day. You must eat your drink your one drink and get the hell out. The tips should go to the cooks and the back of the house because they are the reason for coming back.

Great tasting burgers. Tall shakes. Friendly staff even when my friend said his order wrong. Fries weren't very good but it's still one of my favorite cheap places to go.

The staff was slow and they weren't even very busy. I figured they might be short handed, so I was very patient. There were 10 people in line waiting at the door to be seated (including myself) and not a single staff member would so much as make eye contact, acknowledge anyone at all or even offer an apology for the wait. The food was good, which is what the two stars are for. They need training for the entire staff. I was left with the feeling that if I wanted to eat there I'd have to wait regardless of treatment. The only reason I stayed was because my son didn't want to go anywhere else (I did ask him if he wanted to go somewhere else). Next time Steak n Shake won't be an option. They have lost a customer.

A bit of a wait, food was good, service was ok.

It's a good place to go with the kids. With coupons we got a lot of food for a very good price. The food is also prepared quickly with friendly service.

It used to be better when they had more choices for hot dogs on the menu. But what few items that are left on the menu are still good.

Steak 'n shake is a great cheap burger. Any burger with fries is $4.99 and at this location kids eat free on the weekend. This location has really nice staff, although fresh from school and not too attentive. Overall good visit.

My kids totally love the 1/2 priced milkshakes. We had spent the day, doing chores. They requested sonic milkshakes, as a reward....they were awesome

What is the point in ordering online if I still have to set in the drive thru traffic to pick up my order that is already ready, now my food is cold. You should so car hop for online order

I ordered chilli mac I always get it And the last 2 times was nasty, 3 double burgers. It wasn't at all good. And I use to work here. People wasn't wearing masks one guy you could see him his shirt looked very nasty and a beard, and no mask. I wont ever stop here again. I stop every time I come to north Carolina. Usually 3 times a month. Not anymore. Drive threw was slow at best, save your money , this makes 2 times this week, its awful

Clean and really friendly work crew. We were given prompt service in a timely manner. The food was fresh and delicious! Will for sure be back!

This is 4 years ago suddenly this popped up in Google so I'll still review it because I remember my experience.I was visiting my nephew and his family in North Carolina.I have never heard of steak and shake at that time. So this is the first time I've ever been to a steak and shake.I simply love it the garlic cheeseburger just out of this world so delicious and juicy I have had nothing like it. French fries really good as well but the burger is what was the kicker that made this place fantastic.It was well cleaned and organized and was well maintained.Then please were friendly and pleasant.After that time I had hoped for Steak and Shake to come up to Pennsylvania. They did but those two reviews will be for those specific locations.

Very long Drive thru wait while inside is closed. The time I got in line to when I left drive thru window . . . 43 minutes

This is the ONLY restaurant PERIOD that doesn't accept their own coupons. That sounds pretty greedy to me. Long story short if you received a free Double Burger & fries for signing up for their e'club you might as well delete it.

Worst experience and have had at this or any steak n shake. Fries cold and soggy. Burgers were not the greatest either. Very dissatisfied. This my got to place and idk if I want to go back.

I know its fast food and what to expect from fast food and what to expect. For future reference your supposed to throw away the old french fries and cook more, not serve them

Gal at window was very courteous. Food was delivered quick. Frisco Melt was average, see picture. But next time will try a burger.

The Weaverville Steak 'n Shake never disappoints. We eat there almost every time we travel through Asheville on road trips.

The surfaces seem to be a bit greasy everywhere. Reminds me of those trucker joints that have been open for generations. Food is good. Service was friendly.

Garlic steak burger and fries were amazing however they wanted to charge me money for one sauce.... just one sauce. That is ridiculous I can go anywhere else and won't get charged for one sauce to go with my order. Customer service isn't the best.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. Rude staff, took us 30 MINUTES TO GET WATER! WATER! And another 20 for shakes, and we had to ask a random waitress to take our order and they kept IGNORING US!!! Bad service, and food was cold and shakes were melted. Disgusting! Never coming back! AVOID AT ALL COST! GO EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!

Service and food was good. Only complaint is that they were out of caramel apple shakes and that was what I was really looking forward to. They are the best.

I ordered a classic orange shake at the drive through. Was told I could only get it half price if I ordered a meal. I had said nothing about half price. So again I asked for an orange shake and was told I could only get it half price with a meal. So..I just said. Nevermind... I just wanted a shake fro. Somewhere o never get to go

Food was great. Service from my waiter was superb. Manager was not very pleasant at the register. Dining area wasn't very clean, wasn't busy at all. Tables shouldn't have been messy nor should food have been in the floor.

The Best Fries Hands Down. They don't have an after taste. Just crunchy n delicious. My Favorite burger is the one with Jalapenos

I did not have to wait long to be seated. The restaurant appears to be cleaned. The food is always great. But remember you get what you pay for. Over all it was a fair visit

This is the first visit to this place and it was Happy Hour which was awesome.The food was great,the service was great,everything was in place.Very affordable.

Amazing value. The double and triple burger combos are incredibly cheap, yet filling and delicious. I'd eat here over fast food chains like McDonald's any day. The only issue is the food takes consistently longer to reach the table than you would expect from a burger joint. I have often seen my completed order sitting in the window, ignored for five minutes or more before being brought to my table. The servers don't seem to help each other at all.If you have a little patience and want a good, cheap burger that's made from real ground beef, this place is for you.
